A Letter From Our Founders

Now through April 15, Margaux will donate 10% of all sales to support health workers on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 through donations to Direct Relief and Doctors Without Borders.

Dear gaux girls,

We are writing this message as we watch the world take an unexpected turn, wondering what we can and should and must do to help it keep turning. We are doing double-duty from our kitchen tables, sofas, studio apartments, and stores to keep the business running without interruption.

Amidst the chaos and confusion swirling around us, the health and well-being—physical, mental, and emotional—of our community and our team feel more important than ever. We are fortunate that our warehouse is in an unaffected area and continues to ship your orders without delay (though it is taking necessary and extensive precautions nonetheless). Our Spanish factory is now temporarily closed, but was able to ship the first of our spring products which we will be launching in the coming weeks. Our retail locations are also temporarily closed, but we look forward to the day we can reopen our doors and welcome you back into our world.

It's easy to be overwhelmed in this moment, but we believe a colorful pair of shoes, a beautiful image, or a thoughtfully recommended book or podcast or recipe can be a wonderful salve to find calm and joy amongst the chaos. We are working to bring you all of that and more in the coming weeks with content that will help pass the time and remind us that brighter days lie ahead.

Moments like these are much-needed reminders of how fortunate we are—particularly to be surrounded by this amazing community of women who have chosen to walk this journey with us. And the best thing about that community? No matter where each of us is, whether home-bound for the next few weeks or on the front lines, that community is very much alive. While we will continue posting images, stories, and moments that we hope bring an momentary escape from the news for the next few weeks, we want to recognize that all of us—us, you, the world—are doing the best we can to figure out this new (temporary) normal.

So, thank you for your support, comments, and feedback; your illustrations and selfies and unboxing videos. Each and every one of them has brought a bit of joy and light to our team. And an enormous thank you to the doctors, nurses, health workers, first responders, and other amazing souls who are on the front lines of this fight. Now through April 15, we will be donating 10% of all sales to your efforts through Direct Relief and Doctors Without Borders. We cannot reciprocate what you are doing for us in this moment, but we will contribute how we can from where we are.

We hope you stay safe, healthy, and happy—and know that you can lean on this family when you need it. We'll be with you every step of the way.
