Welcome! We're so glad to meet you.

We launched Margaux with a mission to make beautiful, more comfortable shoes: The staples we we needed in our own closets, and the quality we could count on season after season. Each pair is designed with care in New York, handmade in Spain, and engineered to deliver comfort, confidence, and style without missing a step.

By Design: Dara Caponigro On Her Collaboration Favorite

Cheerful, optimistic, and full of energy, Schumacher x Margaux was inspired by vivacious and stylish creatives—and in celebration of the collaboration we're featuring several such tastemakers, from top interior designers and style connoisseurs to creators and curators at Schumacher.

We're collecting our conversations in this special "By Design" series. Below, learn which style is the favorite of Schumacher's Creative Director, then meet our newest Gaux Girl, designer Young Huh.

As the team at Margaux HQ busily prepares for the launch of our collaboration with Schumacher, we wanted to pass the mic to the woman who was integral in bringing the capsule to life.

Dara Caponigro is Schumacher's creative director, a role that sees her involved with nearly everything the luxury house creates—and as a former Gaux Girl, she's been a style inspiration to Sarah and Alexa for years. Here, she shares what made the partnership feel so serendipitous and which styles are her favorite.

What made working with Margaux appealing? What are the shared sensibilities you see between both of our brands?

Margaux’s passion for style, commitment to quality, and sense of joy all dovetail so perfectly with Schumacher’s DNA, and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to see how Alexa and Sarah—two supremely chic women—would interpret our signature prints onto footwear.

Which silhouette were you most excited to see be reimagined in Schumacher fabric?

We are really thrilled with them all, but if I had to pick favorites, I’d say The Demi in our Cabanon Stripe and The Sandal in our Exotic Butterfly. They’re all whimsical and sophisticated at the same time.

Of all the prints we used in the collection, which is your favorite? Which one were you most surprised to see on a shoe?

I don’t have a favorite print, but when I saw The Mule with that wonderful oversized bow in Campagne, it took my breath away.  It feels so right-now with its feminine silhouette, and I love that the pattern shows up just on the bow. It’s the perfect combo of decadence and restraint.

Schumacher x Margaux will launch on Tuesday, May 11 exclusively on margauxny.com.
