Introducing Happy Menocal for Margaux2019-05-29
We are thrilled to introduce our collaboration with New York-based artist, Happy Menocal. Beautiful paintings, evocative cinema, arresting interiors: Finding inspiration in art is a big part of what drives our vision. The work of illustrator-cum-painter, Happy, is the latest to captivate and energize us. Her love for exuberant color and classic formats resonated with the way we approach design; with such stylish serendipity, a collaboration was inevitable.
Margaux x Happy Menocal is here just in time for summer and, with it, the weddings and parties that are quickly claiming calendar space. Brought to life in The Pointe, the trio of bright pointed-toe flats are as perfect for a walk down the aisle as they are for a turn around the block.
Printed on rich satin, the whimsical hand-painted Happy created takes inspiration from two different sources. The petite blossoms were modeled off of demure Lily of the Valley buds, a bridal-bouquet favorite from some of the world's most stylish women. The twisting garland woven alongside took its direction from feminine picot ribbon. The combination is sweet, but not saccharine, and - most importantly - as unique as the woman wearing it.
Whether you style a pair for a Monday at the office or somewhere a bit more special (the cornflower Niagara hue would make a gorgeous “something blue”...), it’s a peppy, punchy kick we know you’ll love. Honestly, it’s too happy not to.
