5 Things to Know About The Uptown Sandal

There are times when you know you've hit something just right, which is exactly what happened when we introduced The City Sandal this summer. It was impossible to find someone who didn't have an immediately positive reaction when slipping into a pair. Our work developing the perfect equation of pitch, padding, and strap placement paid off as soon as we heard shoppers describing them as "heaven for walking" and comfortable after hours spent standing.

The success of that silhouette got our wheels turning for a future iteration. Now, we're excited to introduce its higher cousin: The Uptown Sandal. Released in a black velvet, metallic gold, and rich brown suede, there's a style for every situation.

Here, a by-the-numbers breakdown looking at the shoe that's unlike anything we've done before.

6 months

...between the time we first started talking about the idea to having it ready for shoppers. Initial sketches and talks began in June, almost immediately after seeing how wildly popular The City Sandal was.

5 iterations

...to get to The Uptown Sandal. As part of our process, the team is constantly retooling prototypes to land on the perfect combination of form and function. By the fifth version, we knew it was ready to go.

10 colors and prints

...were considered as we thought about the perfect grouping to introduce first. We hope you love the trio we selected!

...or approximately 3.25 inches is the heel height that flattered legs and felt more formal, while still being comfortable enough for all-day wearing.

30 hours

...we collectively spent wear-testing samples around the office, noting feedback and ideas on how we could make it even more perfect.

Since the design is based on The City Sandal, the fit is very comparable: Take your same size when placing an order. Know what to expect from the fabric you select too. The suede and Nappa leather will slightly give with wear, while the velvet will not.
