You're Invited to Dinner in D.C.2019-11-01
Opening our latest pop-up in Washington D.C. involved a full week of special events and parties, capped off by the most exciting celebration of all: an intimate dinner with customers. Hosted in our Georgetown space with a tablescape curated by event start-up Social Studies, it was an evening to remember.
A mix of gaux girls and Margaux team sipped champagne before sitting at a beautifully appointed table to discuss style, work, and what being a girl on the gaux means to women today. We loved how everyone present—no matter their age or career—found common ground in a love of classic style and spirited pursuit of their passions.
Take a peek at what some of them had to say about their favorite styles, the moment they discovered Margaux, and more, all below.
On how long they've been a gaux girl:
"I was introduced to Margaux a year ago. I immediately fell in love with the look, but, more importantly, the story of how the co-founders turned down high-paying corporate jobs right after college to pursue their passion. I always receive lots of compliments on my shoes, which is a nice bonus, but the real gift is the fit and comfort."
"I've been wearing Margaux for a little over three years. My first pair was The Demi in Cerulean. I had specifically wanted a pair of flats in that shade of blue, so when I stumbled across them, it was love at first sight."
"I discovered Margaux through one of my favorite bloggers about six months ago. I eyed them for awhile and finally bought The Heel for a wedding in San Francisco where I wanted a pair of heels I could also walk around the city in. I've been hooked ever since!"
On where they wear Margaux:
"I walk to work in Margauxs every day, I wear them when I travel, to special events...the list goes on."
"Running through airports more times than I can count, to interviews for my podcast, and to lacrosse and soccer games with my two young kids."
"They're a go-to for me if I have an interview, a national sales meeting, or a power presentation. I always feel confident because they're stylish and complement my outfit, but are also comfortable so I can 'win' at these moments."
"I've traveled to six different countries in Margaux shoes. If you include the U.S., I've walked in seven countries wearing my Margaux."
On their favorite Margaux silhouette:
"The Demi is perfect for the office and the weekends. I've worn it for many hours and many miles and comfort has never been an issue. I also just bought the Gal Meets Glam x Margaux pink velvet loafer, and it's quickly making its way to the top of my list..."
"The Pointe in Rose Nappa. I love that it's a sleek, flattering shoe with a dainty bow, plus the color is such a pretty shade of blush. It matches with most outfits."
"My first pair was The Demi, a perfect pink ballet slipper which wears beautifully and packs almost entirely flat. That led to finding 'shoe love' with The Loafer in Leopard and The Heel. It's beautiful and totally wearable."
