#gauxtips: An Easy Recipe for At-Home Happy Hour

Zoom, FaceTime, Google Hangouts—we're staying connected and offering affection, support, and moments of levity to everyone in our community.

Toasting to a laptop cam has become commonplace, but why not add a bite to the mix? We asked Gaux Girl Aishwarya Iyer, founder of artisanal olive oil company Brightland, to share an easy recipe that you can whip up in your kitchen with just a handle of ingredients, then share virtually. Her recipe for a melon salad, below, shows off Brightland's newest launch: a limited-edition basil olive oil.

Melon Salad with Basil Olive Oil


  • 1 medium cantaloupe, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons Brightland Arise olive oil
  • 10 green olives, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella balls, sliced into quarters
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 lime)
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste


In a bowl, toss the cantaloupe, olives, red onion, and mozzarella balls together. Dress the salad with a long pour of ARISE and a drizzle of red wine vinegar. Toss with the lime juice. Generously salt and pepper the salad and taste.
